MRT Dining....Or Is It?! Menu: Appetiser: Lollipop Main Course: Fussy, childish and inmature uncle Dessert: Nagging from Principal The incident A group of students from a prestigious Junior College were being accused of eating lollipops on the train. Such a report was filed by an uncle who was described the youths as "Blatantly ignoring my gestures at the "No eating Sign" and," Not keeping their lollipops after telling them to keep them." and "Setting a bad example for the children" and for causing a nuisance in public. So, this uncle, who was very "disturbed by what he saw, wrote an email to the respective principal, who broadcasted the bad news to the students, which caused a major uproar. Arguement: Though it is a bit bad for the students to eat lollipops on the train, however, it is not serious enough to dirty the train. (provided the students do no litter, which is highly unlikely as most JC students are civilised enough no to litter). If the food item were Mac Donalds, the uncle would have a point. However, in this case, it is unreasonable to accuse the students of dirtying the train as it is highly unlikely that they would dirty the train with sweet wrappers. Secondly, the uncle told the students to keep their lollipops. Such a request is unreasonable. First of all, no sane person would keep the wrapper of the lollipop as they would have disposed of it long before boarding the train. And since dustbins are not provided on MRT trains, it is impossible for the youths to dispose of them. It is also imposible for them to keep the lollipops in their bags as the lollipops are sticky and would dirty their bags.( More imporatntly their lollipops! later they eat the contaminated lollipop and lau Sai!) Thus the youths are not "blatantly" ignoring him, but they have no choice! The uncle also accused the students for setting a "bad" example for "children". However, one would notice that most children travel with their parents. As responsible parents, they should be using the example as a counter-example. Furthermore, most kids are not so stupid to follow everything by example. (Children Nowadays are very smart! Even global warming they can come up with a debate you know!) Rule of Court: Though the students are guilty of dining on the train, it is not fair to accuse them for causing a "nuisance" and setting a bad example for children. the crime of "blatantly continuing to eat lollipops" cannot be proved as the students have no way of discarding the lollipops, thus they have NO CHOICE but to keep sucking them. Furthermore, our fussy, childish and inmature uncle has proven himself to be an absolute idiot by wasting his own energy, electricity and internet band-width for sending the complain email to "Prestigiuos JC". This incident is just not worth the resources needed for the complaint. Disclaimer: these comments are meant for entertainment purposes only.
