The Day the Earth Stood Still Watched this movie with a couple of 4B people. Some movie critics said it was quite crappy. And I partially agree because the plot looks more like a 1960s(It is in fact based on a 1950s film of the same name) and the film seems to emphasize more on special effects than the story. Like Zhang YiMou's "簧金甲". But the lesson protrayed is quite plaudible and I think World Polluters such as George W Bush(bloody idiot) should watch this. We are killing our planet with our way of life and we must change if our speciaes were to survive. So let's all do our part okay!=) MRT Issues... Colou(red). MRT Colour..hehe! Using MTR photo! Queing issues Took the MRT with JingXuan after the lunch and movie. And I needed to get a new EZ Link card because my student card ran out of money and I don't want to return my card to MOE. And we found out that it's actually faster to qeue at the manual ticket counter tan to qeue at the vending machines. So next time better trust a human than machine..haha! New EZ Link Card issue: Starting from today, anyone who buys the EZ Link card will be issued with the NEW EZ Link. they say it has alot of functions...one of it being for ERP( WTH!!!!) and it's supposed to be very powderful...but still looks like the old card..and with an uglier design. I still prefer the old card design. XD But none the less, still quite cool..haha! Next time cash card no money can stuff EZ Link card into IU unit! =D
Thankyou to Zimin for the card and keychain, To sy for the card, To Leon for his Taiwan Chain and to Ying for another card! =)
And thanks for all the Christmas greetings from everyone!
And..we made something for someone yesterday. Finally completed! (This only a draft. The final version is undisclosed for the victim to figure out!)
MRT Dining....Or Is It?! Menu: Appetiser: Lollipop Main Course: Fussy, childish and inmature uncle Dessert: Nagging from Principal The incident A group of students from a prestigious Junior College were being accused of eating lollipops on the train. Such a report was filed by an uncle who was described the youths as "Blatantly ignoring my gestures at the "No eating Sign" and," Not keeping their lollipops after telling them to keep them." and "Setting a bad example for the children" and for causing a nuisance in public. So, this uncle, who was very "disturbed by what he saw, wrote an email to the respective principal, who broadcasted the bad news to the students, which caused a major uproar. Arguement: Though it is a bit bad for the students to eat lollipops on the train, however, it is not serious enough to dirty the train. (provided the students do no litter, which is highly unlikely as most JC students are civilised enough no to litter). If the food item were Mac Donalds, the uncle would have a point. However, in this case, it is unreasonable to accuse the students of dirtying the train as it is highly unlikely that they would dirty the train with sweet wrappers. Secondly, the uncle told the students to keep their lollipops. Such a request is unreasonable. First of all, no sane person would keep the wrapper of the lollipop as they would have disposed of it long before boarding the train. And since dustbins are not provided on MRT trains, it is impossible for the youths to dispose of them. It is also imposible for them to keep the lollipops in their bags as the lollipops are sticky and would dirty their bags.( More imporatntly their lollipops! later they eat the contaminated lollipop and lau Sai!) Thus the youths are not "blatantly" ignoring him, but they have no choice! The uncle also accused the students for setting a "bad" example for "children". However, one would notice that most children travel with their parents. As responsible parents, they should be using the example as a counter-example. Furthermore, most kids are not so stupid to follow everything by example. (Children Nowadays are very smart! Even global warming they can come up with a debate you know!) Rule of Court: Though the students are guilty of dining on the train, it is not fair to accuse them for causing a "nuisance" and setting a bad example for children. the crime of "blatantly continuing to eat lollipops" cannot be proved as the students have no way of discarding the lollipops, thus they have NO CHOICE but to keep sucking them. Furthermore, our fussy, childish and inmature uncle has proven himself to be an absolute idiot by wasting his own energy, electricity and internet band-width for sending the complain email to "Prestigiuos JC". This incident is just not worth the resources needed for the complaint. Disclaimer: these comments are meant for entertainment purposes only. MRT Breakdown=Oh my Sky! I shall take this opportunity to say "Thankyou! SMRT" for greeting me with such a "GOOD MORNING" today. When I reached Bedok this morning, I was greeted with this "Service Disruption: No train serice between Tanah Merah and Pasir Ris. So I just took the train to Tanah Merah and see what happened. I called Geraldine for info on buses and informed Mr Nathen that I will be late. When I reached Tanah Merah, I was forced into this err...not so crowded bus, which was supposed to take me to Pasir Ris via Simei and Tampines MRT. Well..it was "Supposed" to. When I reached Simei, The stupid uncle forced all of us to get off the bus and transfer to another bus opposite the road because of some stupid reason..I think it was because they did'nt know the way or something.. Then waited for 30mins for the stupid feeder bus to come and I bumped into EnChou's friend onboard. So at least I had someone who would be late with me. XD And this time, the bus was SUPER PACKED. The way from Simei to Pasir Ris was LOOOOOOOOONNG! We had a bus driver who was whimpering," Where is Pasir Ris? I dunno..I dunno....=(" And we were like" What the heck?!?! Since when bus driver dunno where is Pasir Ris one?!" At the suggestion of EnChou's friend, I took these pictures of people cheonging the bus...poor people.and..haiz...it's not very nice to see the true colour of us Singaporeans. So we were taken on this round-about tour of Tampines and Pasir Ris, which lasted a total of at least an hour. Along the way, we stopped at Tampines MRT where we saw this scene of people cheonging onto the road to catch the feeder bus.And I've gota tell you, the scene is seriously the most chaotic scene I've ever seen in Singapore..probably close to a riot. People cheonging to the opposite side of the road without caring about traffic and busses parked in the middle of the road. Then when we reached Pasir Ris, we had this joker who pressed the bell because he wanted to get off at a paticular stop and everyone laughed. And all of us were giving this "OMG! Who is this idiot?!" kind of face.. Since most of the passengers were meridians, we wanted to ask the driver to drop us off at the bus stop. But in the end, our stubborn driver still drove us all to Pasir Ris MRT. And best of all, i got scolded by that B**** when I reached school. Lucky got Mr Tan who talked us(There were like 80 over of us) out f the matter...thankyou Mr Tan!=)
What shocked me most was how the media reported it." MRT Service disrupted for...JUST 7 hours!" WTH?!?! JUST 7 hours? if 7 hours is JUST then what is 'seriousy disrupted"?!?! Best of all is that the cause of the problem is because of a service train..err..partially imploding? Somewhere between Tampines and Simei? Which is quite...serious?
Anyway, this has got to be the 3rd thime I kena-ed train service disruption in my life. The last time I was in HK. The MTR train stalled between WanChai an Admiralty due to signal glitch for 30mins. And the MTR received a few thousand complain phone calls on that day. The other time was also in HK when an LRT train got dislodged from the track..that was an equally irritating experience
