World of Reality
Started the day at school to meet Siuyin and zimin to do proposal for V.day 2008. And the CNY celebrations next year is really going to be CNY=Happy New Year. First of all, we started to have an ambition to challenge to world record for having the most number of people "lao-ing" YuSheng together. So what's so bad about that? Well, it's good. But If you were to know the conditions, it'll..err...niot be good. Imagine breaking a world record, and your boss(teachers) told you that they don't want just "any" YuSheng but high quality YuSheng from Shangrila Hotel?!?!?! And I was like, wha't so WRONG about normal YuSheng?! Besides, some hawker YuSheng taste even better than the crazy hotel ones. No wonder MJ is poor.

An Enchanted Movie

Went with sy and zimin to city hall almost 45mins earlier than specified cuz we were being very bored walking around TM. Met Dinie at the MRT after jalaning to the Toilet at the Raffles The Plaza Hotel and visitng their MaoZeDong art gallery. Imagine how late he was! and then still had to wait for Bryan, Leon,Mabel,Siyi and Clarice who came late together. haiz..should have asked them to treat us drink right? =)

We still managed to catch the 4.15 show for Enchanted. But ti was still too late for sy and Bryan who have tuition so we had to Pungseh them. So sorry! Hope they had a great time together!=) Who knows...you know each other today, you get married tommorow...XD

The movie itself is just SOOOOOO FREAKIN FUNNY! Especially this clip, where Giselle sings and everyone in the park would impormptu join in sing with her and make the whole place a carnival. So Power Can? I really hope next year's J1s will be like that during orientation. It'll be a specatcle.

Overall rating:4 popcorns out of 5.

The movie was great when it comes to entertainment value cuz it really make syou laugh throughout. Storyline was original and full of surprises. Many references were also made to many other Disney Fairytale series. the voice of Giselle was very suiting as she really sounds like a fairy, according to zimin. It lost out because of the lameness of the jokes. Some parts are not exactly funny. But you end up laughing until you roll on the ground cuz they are just so cold you can't help laughing.

Dinie's Enchanting Story:

As a revenge for Diniem who spoofed me at the ciniema earlier, here's a little story about Dinie:

Totally enchanted by the movie, our hero goes shopping for something to please his ****. And he seems lost for ideas....

Then he comes across..something.....
"Ahh...pink! how nice! She's gona look as cute as piglet soon!"

And he finds with him a multi-sized dress that suits everyone.
"Perfect!"

Then suddenly,Leon, our messenger from hell appears.
He grabs the dress. And the epic battle begins.
Dinie-"Hey! it's mine!"
Leon-"How dare you! Betray me!"
Dinie-"Betray u wat.."
Leon-"Our feelings! How dare you wish for a happy ending with ***!?
Dini-(stunned)
....
Wana find out what happens to Dinie? Keep watching this space when we go out for another outing next week!
Note that this production is meant for entertainment purposes only.

Random Jalan Around Town
First of all, I got myself in town because i was summoned by the royal orders of Limbei Han En Chou to settle the Biz Club Tee. So I went to Bencoolen street to order from the printer who gave some very budget service for a very budget price. And best of all, she made me pay a deposit of $300. Quit impossible for a broke like me. So I called my ATM, JiaXian for help and he told me that he,Geraldine and Daniel were meeting at Orchard to settle the Chirstmas stalls. So I went over to join them. Met Geraldine at the MRT staion and she said my hair looked very quai-kia. Poor me....small kid say I look quai le....
Then met up with the other 2 guys and went to this Tanglin Mall to register our ballots. Since the stalls are allocated by ballots, our places at the mall are not confirmed and will be determined by luck. Quite stupid it is...until...
Daniel gets broadcasted!!!!

The four of us were Jalan-ing innocently when this mediacorp reporter confronted us. Immediately JiaXian ran off, Follwed by Me and Geraldine. With our sudden disappearance, we were left with Daniel who had to be gruelled by the reporter. JiaXian says they braodcast it every week on er.....some day on Channel 5. So fellow Biz clubbers and MJ Clique members! Here's a request from the 3 of us:PLEASE stay tuned to Channel 5! and remember to record and put it up on Youtube! (Ignore the last part...it was ment as a joke)
Exploring SimLim Technology
Geraldine got very enticed by the prospects of working as a sales for a SimLim store, which is setting up a booth at Expo during the trade show this Thursday. So we accompanied her to go sign up and let JiaXian train her. So we were given these "imitated products". Which include iPods ,iPhones and PS look-alikes, which have the same functions as the original products but minus the brand and of a smilar design. Here, we tested out this wierd contraption with geraldine's leg inside. appaerntly, it's not as good as the original. You would have seen a continuous leg if its were a "made in angmo country brand".
Embarressing:
We went in search for a birthday present for (a paticularly famous guy) at Bugis Street. And we found him somthing that is very errr...good luck for him when he plays Bridge. Yep...red colour "SpongeBob" Boxers! Very lucky right?!
And JiaXian was willing to be a specimen too!
Biz Club Tee:
Anyway, a serious announcement to Biz Club readers:
Our Biz Club tee will cost S$20 each.
Design will be the design we decided on and a black jersey with white stripes. (It's gona look like a Miranda OGL tee...which is good cuz Miranda rocks!)
Jersy will include a zipper.
Please pay your money to Exco during next meeting. thx!

Mugging.....
I am currently feeling very demoralised after reading Clarice's blog when she blogged about how much mugging was left undone. Now I'm freaking out trying to understand Maclaurin's shit and doing the tutorial. This is bad...I'm gona look forward to screwing up my January lecture tests. This week is gona be damn busy. Anyone wana go mug? Remember to call me along! =) TP,NP,School,Airpot,Orchard,NLB all can!

Astro Fiesta @ Ngee Ann Poly:part2
Verdict:
Since most of us have already blogged about the camp, i shall not elaborate too much. In my opinion, I'll give the following ratings for the camp:
5 stars being the best:

Fun:4 stars:
Reason: No intervention from teachers. All student initiated and much more freedom of itineary.

Organisation:2 stars
Reason:Probably the main reason why the camp screwed itself up. ALOT of time was wasted over small things. So it made the camp quite sian overall. The most obvious was on the last day when they made us cheer..for nothing. Damned obvious that they had not itineary on the 3rd day.

Dirt Factor:3 stars
Reason: The Butter Hill on day 2 was good. So good that all of us got down and dirty, which fits the purpose of having a camp. Other games, which were meant to be "wet" were unable to get participants wet. The wearing wet T-shirt game was the only game that got us wet. However, our shirts dried up b ythe time we reached the next station.

Overall rating: 3 stars
Fun factor was better than Mj orientation 2. But sian factor was also very high in this camp, which heavily penilised its performance. Dirt factor around that of Mj's. What this camp needs most urgently is efficiency and organisation. Especially when the club is organising one for Kids in December. Though I should mention that some members in the group have been putting in alot of effort to make us comforatable and ensuring we don't feel too sian. Special mention goes out to Dinie, for bearing with us and letting us bully, Cherlyn for also bearing with us and trying to accomodate to our group, Wilson and David for explaining all the cheemology to us even thiugh we will never understand them.

Group photos:

Final mention also goes out to this someone who created a spectcle by screwing himself.

And the Macdonalds Uncle who delivered our breakfast on a Taxi cuz our order was too big.

Astro Fiesta @ Ngee Ann Poly:
Intorduction to characters:
For the past 2 days and nights, I've been spending time at Ngee Ann's Astro Fiesta. This thingy is more of the "night time go out see star" type so I'm currently damned freaking tired. So for the timwe being, I shall introduce you to a few "stars"

Group2:Newton

Top: ChongYee, Cherlyn,Revi
Bottom: Melvina, Moi,Siuyin, ZhenYan
Not in pic: Jordan
Not named after Issac Newton, the freak who kena knocked crazy by the falling apple. But our group happens to come up with such a name because in Chinese, Newton sounds like 牛-turn, or Cow-turn. Since cows are represented in the cosmos by the constallation of Taurus, we decided to come across this name. The "turn" reflects how flexible we are. The final "newton" was chosen because.....well...we were being lame and random...so....I should'nt do much explanation.

Our GLs: Jordan and Cherlyn
Jordan is the very funny person who is..err....well..made a fool of himself along with us on stage today? Very loud at doing cheers and really supportive. =) He's also a freako cuz he was gaming the entire night on his laptop. Pro.
Cherlyn is by the far the least vulgar Poly student I've ever seen cuz I've not heard her curse (Not even the word: shit) in the entire camp....while many others, including us, have sweared and cursed countless times with much stronger words. The seniors say she is famous for being a fan of cows and has helped us in designing our mascot.
Cherlyn's art. And it's fresh! As fresh as marigold!=)

Chong Yee:
I should have gotten to know his family name cuz this guy has a 80% resemblence of KianYan, our Biz club senior.( dat guy who..err...always ith Rosalind one le....) He is so joker can! If he can bake like Kian Yan, then it'll be a 100% match!
Wilson:
The guy who gave me this really cheemo explanation about black holes, and the ghost stories about NP. One of the episodes about the square block was the best! =)
The Totally Dinie Episode:
And ofcourse, we'd have to feature our star of the show! Dinie! He's the sort of person who can fit totally into army cuz his mouth is just full of f***ing bullshit. And he, like all NS-men and some Poly guys, like to use vulgals such as "f***" and "KNNBCCB" as a replacement to our normal commas, full stops, and exclamation marks. The most popular usage is to say, "F*** you" as an exclamation or as a replacement for "hello" and "yo!"
He's also famous for having numerous nationalities. His real race is Indonesian Chinese. However, we have given him numerous nationalities, including: Burmese, Vietnamese, Fillipino, Portuguese, Cambodian, Chinese-Filipino, and best of all, Vietnamese-Filipino. (aka: maid) XD

This guy is also afraid of pokes and being shot by camera. So....we'll know what to do if he bullies someone...

Being totally corrupted in the mind, he's an expert at doing pranks. Especially with Siyi's handphone. And the idiot has conveniently avoided the camera...
Siyi's new name, "Energizer Bunny" is coined by him.

Dinie in the process of being screwed by Leon.

Erm...

Ice-cream
This is "Island Creamery" and they ofer some of the best ice-cream you can find.
We to there to makan after with the MJ clique, Ronnie and Dinie. (Minus Leon..who had parents to fetch him on a limo)
The outlet is along Bukit Timah road and accessible by every single SBS bus from NP except 222.

We ordered Cookies and Cream,Apple Pie and some wierdo choc flavour which tastes really good. In my opinion, thier Cookies and Cream are far better than Perkafe's and their choc falvours can beat our Belgian Chocs. The Apple Pie was good, but the flavour was not as good as the other 2.
While eating...someone stained ice-cream on his.....errr....all I know is that person is notm Dinie or me..so it's....yea..you know who liao..=)
This got Siyi (aka Energizer Bunny) very excited and she started taking pictures of every single spill that we made. Such as this splat on Dinie's hp.=) Splat!

PSLE:
Congratulations to St Hilda's Primary for producing our national PSLE scorer for the second time! (People in East zone should be happy about this..) and her score is 294!(Our batch was 26? or 27?) Never in my wildest dreams can I imagine PSLE results being so good. Especially when the freaking maths paper needs the use of a GC(my own exaggeration) and a few algebraic formulas(a fact: you NEED algebra for heaven's sake).
Oh well, maybe Singaporeans are getting smarter. Like last time everyone took the standard Mother tongue paper. Now, Higher Mother tongue is the norm. And last time, we learned A math in Sec3. Now, kiasu principals make kids learn A math from sec2.

Olympics:
Singapore's bidding to host the Youth Olympics in 2010. And we are only lagging behind Moscow in overall performance. So we'd better get ready and start writing some "vision-vision" kind of song for 2010.Like this one for 2008: (I'm sooo glad Hackan Lee gets to sing a few lines XD..and for the first time, CCP never include any communist messages...)

We Are Ready:

Chorus:
we are ready 把心和心都连在一起

we are ready 把天与地都连在一起
超越了自己赢得一场光荣的胜利
用时间纪念梦想的神奇
we are ready

一分一秒的等待这刻终于到来
漫天灿烂的烟花在骄傲的盛开
这个民族已经准备好带着笑容来向你问好
让全世界的目光降落在我们的怀抱

Perkafeitis!
We had our product testing session today on the beeds design and shrinking plastic. The beeds went off on a not so nice start cuz we did'nt know what kind of designs we can use. Only when Mabel brought us some designs that we went back on track. And..err...we made a bell and a snowman.
The shrinking plastic was really wierd. After Jack did the design and siuYin filled in the words, we dumped the plastice into the toaster and we heated the thing until it curled up. We were watching anxiously, hoping it would not fold up. then, for some magical reason, the plastic started to flatten itself when it was about to reach it's final size, which is about 1/4 its original.
And the finish product? tada!
After testing SiuYin had something on, so we were left with mabel, zimin and me. So we went Orchard to buy all the materials we needed. On our way, we decided to be caring citizens by.....
Meridian Peoples Action Caring Citizens Campaign(MPACCC)
Act1:Giving up your seats to the elderly
Now, Singapore is facing an aging population. So there're more Ah Gongs and Aunties around. So, being very nice, people, the 3 of us decided to give up our seats to 3 uncles cuz they seem to be struggling to balance themselves in the train.
Act2:Donating to Kids selling flags
While walking out of Orchard MRT station, we were confronted with this poor Secondary school kid selling flags. And best of all, her can was empty. So we donated generously. Poor kid...reminds me of my flag day last year.XD
Act3: Returning someone's work permit.
(the funniest)While walking from Taka to ceterpoint, we found this document with our national embelm on it. At closer look, we found out that this was someone's work-permit. And we gave each other this stare..."This is so freakin importnat can!" So we flipped open the document and looked for contact numbers, or we would submit it to the police. So we found this number and Mabel called them. And the person on the other end of the phone told us to return it to their outlet at the basement of Taka. So searched for the outlet and returned to the auntie at the counter. And when the auntie saw the work permit, she turned to this guy and said," Eh! Find liao le! I give u plastic bag! later dun loose le!" and she said like duno how amny thankyous, but the guy who owns the permit did'nt say anything. Guess that guy already too scared le...poor thing..
Mugger Feet Walk China: Final installment

My last day in Shanghai mainly revolved around the airport. Got a 3 hour delay cuz the plane I was supposed to fly in came in late by 2 hours. Then, due to high volume of traffic, the flight was further delayed by 1 hour. So, since I had nothing to do, I was left to rot at the terminal...and...er....enjuoy the scenery..XD

someone as wu liao as me..also go and take picture

Mugger Feet Walk China Part 10-11
As promised, this is how my work place in China looks like.

This is the office where I spend quite alot of time in...

And a view from the Sample Room on the second floor, this is where i spend most of my time. The basketball court is for worker's recreation. However, due to the cold front that came in this week, no one's outside...cuz later will kena frozen...XD

As for what I do inside, is to weigh out amounts of dye for each sample before they usit for testing before every test. The scales they use are the super accurate kind that we use in MJ for the VA Practicals...(u noe..de titrations..yada yada...)..sian rite? I agree...

post:#250
Mugger Feet Walk China Part 8-9:
Part8
I had to run a rather interesting errand in HongKou district so I shall push the post about work in a later post.
Lets start with some ranting about the transport system...
Today's bus journey was the most scary of all the bus trips I took in the past week. ur driver not only boke the speed limit, he actually tried to overtake cars from the road shoulder( the lane supposed to be used only during emergency).
Time:08 35

Time: 08 35 20
See? The bus over-took a speeding car.
Time:09 05 00
And I was relieved I reached Old Chegdu Rd Terminus in one piece.
Then had to haul the bag of samples( taken from th factory earlier in the morning) onto the Red Line of the metro.
Very crowded....And I almost got robbed by some wierdo Mongolian looking guy(Not the guy in the pic) who tried to get close to me. Being rather accustomed to the rudeness of the commuters, I shoved him off and he kinda gave me this very paiseh face. Yea..so maybe he really wanted to mug me.
Then..still had to change AGAIN to get to DongBaoXing Rd, my final destination. This time, I had to take the Yellow Line which is a 500m walk from the Red Line platform..by the time the train arrived, my legs are almost broken from all the rushing and running...and dodging run-away commuters. (Some people here are "blind" cuz they dun use their eyes when they walk..so they langa into people..grrr!)
And when I boarded the train? More standing....grrr....
By the time I reached my destination and settled off with the receipiant, It was almost lunch time...And given the cold weather, I was starving even before reaching my receipiant.
All the hastle, has its rewards. I was given free time for the rest of the afternoon and the followng day!yay! And I got to walk around HongKou district, and Duolun Road. Including LuXun's previous residence and musuem. LuXun is de guy who wrote the "teng ye sian sheng" in de chinese textbook...de siao siao one..rmb? ya..dat one. So you kinda get an idea of what is inside. The content inside is quite interesting and you will actually get to understand more about that wierdo passage after seeing the exhibits. (But.....Chinese A level is over le..)Admission is free for students. Do show ur Singapore EZlink card. They also accept de.
Duolun Rd is another interesting place located within walking distance from LuXun's Memorial Musuem.
Korean Food is very Ichiban!
And the place is posh!
Art Gallery
Another cheemo art gallery. This used to be theresidence of some writer.
Former residence of..err...some KMT guy..The name is: Bai's Mansion (Think of Bai Zhi Peng....................Last time someone by the name of Bai used it)
Colonial South East Asian Architechture.
Left:A Chinese-Western designed church. The priest and his family were killed during WW2. T was used asa school, a museum and some Jap HQ during WW2. Now, it's used as a church once again.
Right: Jap food!=)
Duolun Rd Museum of Modern Art. More cheemo art stuff...the street's full of it.
Drinking Yakult in China
Yakult here is called "yang le duo". Bottle size is same as Singapore. And.. for those who never visit Yakult factory with Biz Club,Singapore has the only Yakult in the world with multiple flavours. So as expected, Yakult here has only the original flavour. The taste is less sweet than Sinapore and there's a more milky taste. Straws are not provided.
Part9
Muggerland-China-Shanghai Musuem of Sci&Tech

Shanghai Musuem of Science and Technology
Very huge place, probably 5 times the size of S'pore Science Centre with 4 times the cheemness and 10times as many people. Ya...damn crowded...

Chemistry:
Let's try some calcite shall we?
In Chinese and Chinglish!
And chemical formula....
Some muggers taking picturesof the samples. See, Meridian muggers must learn from Chinese Muggers kae!

Geography:
Now, I shall write an essay on plate techtonics in Chinese!
I think Mr Alvin Tan will FREAK OUT when he hears of this....XD (evil laugh)

Multimedia area:
Some kids try to figure out how to broadcast themselves..=)

While some autie and uncle dance in front of the camera....
I've also made something stupid at their gallery..it concerns BizClub..XD

And...this place is FULL of Muggers of all kinds...
Everywhere people mountain people sea..
Food Republic:Shanghai
In my opinion, Food Republic gotta do something about the quality of their overseas investments. I ordered Laksa and the taste was....(If you thought MJC Canteen Laksa was bad, you're gona vomit whn you taste it)...The soup tastes as if it were from cup noodles(Powder+waterkind) and the noodles themselves were overcooked. And it ended up not tasting like laksa. So...fellow MJ Biz Clubbers..next time if you ever wana make an investment overseas in the food industry, please..remember....bring along someone from Katong 328 or someone experienced in making Singapore food. It'll be a disaster asking some untrined soul to cook them..
Mugger Life-Shanghai
Shanghai muggers have as much material wealth as many S'porean muggers like us. As seen here, they have at least an Ipod(girl on the left), and(PS2, boy in the centre). Many carry branded items such as branded bags.(Even richer than my cousin in Guangzhou...)= )
Behavior wise, they behave just like Meridians. They hang out alot, do stupid stuff( Girl shouting at friend downstairs..) and make a total fool of themselves....(Remember Geraldine being pushed around by Daniel on a supermarket trolley..XD)
And their uniforms are....er...if you are not a fan of track pants and jackets, then too bad..cuz almost all schools wear those.
(I'll have to ask my cousin if you wana know their curriculum and academic life.)
Jiang Shan Mei Ren(Chinese beauty)
For those of you who have heard of the legend that Shanghainese girls are the chio-est of all Chinese women, then you are correct!(Ah Meng would be happy to hear of this) Shanghainese girls are indeed very chio and have a better fashion sense than people from inner China. Though their degree of hotness is lower than Singaporeans, they tend to lean towards the cute cute side..like Jap girls..XD
But beauty comes at a price. Shanghainese girls are also infamous for being bossy and in most cases, their husbands are supposed to become their subjects while they head the household(See? Chinese women do enjoy a high status in Chinese society...make a note to your CSE notes). So most men in Shanghai tend to follow the same status as HongKong gentlemen: "Xiao nan ren" (Little men)
