2007之大事回顾
2007 Reviewed:

人生之路:
Personal Life:
2007 marks my first year in post-secondary education! Meaning there's only 1 more year of wearing uniform before entering Uni. I will definitley miss wearing uniforms cuz it'll probably be the last moments in my life where everyone regardless rich or poor looked the same. And thankfully MJ's uniform is'nt too ugly XD.
This year also marked the year i finally converted to Muggerism, the official state religion of Meridian JC. It is believed that only people who use this religion will excel well in their A's....most, if not all abandon it as soon as their last paper is over.Haha!
This year also marked the year I started reading massive amounts of Hong Kong Chinese Publications. In the past, I was quite lazy about reading traditional Chinese after adapting to the Singapore system. However, after Taking CSE, I have no choice but to switch back to my old system as most S'pore and China publications tend to have a bias on China affairs. So no choice, have to read MingPao and watch TVB news. Some accidental gains include reading a book/fictional journal about life in HKU, written by anformer HKU student. It really gave me an eye-opener to the school.

Last but not least, I've been extremely fortunate to have met all my special friends at MJ. Special mention goes out to the MJ clique and Biz Club. =)

Singapore News:
This year marks a raise of GST from 5% to 7%. This means some more paying to do despite little increase in income. This also translates to fewer outings and switching to cheaper products everytime we go NTUC or in my case, ShengShong(They offer the best price!)

This year also marks the arrival of the Airbus A380 to Singapore and the introduction of those first of it's kind...errr... very comfortable and spacious beds? No wonder they had to ban condoms!

This year also marks the introduction of History channel(sian..) to Starhub Cable TV.

This year is also the last year where PAE students get to spend the FULL 1st 3 months as after this year, students only get to enjoy 1 month of slack and subsequently zero. So, to all those who enter JC this year, remember to treasure this luxury!=) Remember to take photos of each other after exchanging your uniforms. And if possible, get a guy, like afiq to wear his TKG uniform! He looks so "chio" !URRRGGH!

香江日记:
Hong Kong News:
2007 marks the 10th aniversary of the reunification of Hong Kong with China. This translates to lots of fireworks and...play!

2007 is also election year for the Chief executive and District Councils. Glad to know that the Pan-progress parties (DAB, Liberal party..also known as Pro-Beijing by western media) have performed respectably at the elections. Hopefully peace and stability will pesevere especially in such a volatile period.

2007 marks the demolition of Queen's Pier. This is another landmark Hong Kong has lost since the Central Star Ferry Pier last year. So far the government has pledged to rebuild it after recliamation works. However, the resulting reconstructed structure will definitely differ from the original Pier due to the new location.

On 2nd December, the last KCR train departs LowWu Station, marking an end of 97 years of service. Since my early years(3 yrs old), when I stayed in Shueng Shui, I have been growing up with KCR. Despite moving out to Hong Kong Island when I was 5, I still travelled on the KCR regularly to visit my grandparents. The merging of the MTR and KCR systems marks an era of more efficiency and chaper tickets but I do miss the old KCR days alot!
Last but not least, just before 2007 is finished, the central government has decided to grant Hong Kong democracy earliest by 2017. Though my political stand is leaned slightly towards the Pan-Progress side(pro-Beijing), I strongly believe that Hong Kong must have a democracy as soon as possible, preferably by 2012. This is especially so when the government sort of "promised" us that direct elections will happen by 2012. Thus like hwat some Hong Kongers have mentioned, we feel "cheated". As for now, I do hope for more discussion between the citizens and the government and settle with a solution where majority HongKongers agree with.

What to look out for in 2008:
Beijing Olympics! Just like previous years, I have 2 teams to support, namely Hong Kong and Singapore. Hopefully they get us some glory yea?
And ofcourse 2008 also marks the most DECISIVE and DEADLY year in education. what is it? A LEVELS!
This means more mugging and even more mugging in the next 9 months. More Jamming of facts, formulas and everything explosive into your brain before they all blow up in front of your exam script.
And...NAPFA! For the sake of not goping in 2 months earlier, please, just bloody hell get a silver okay!

New Year resolution:
1: MUG and MUG and MUG and MUG!
2.Train well for NAPFA
3.Enjoy the last year of wearing school uniform
4.Scold less vulgals, (especially thw word: F***)
5.Continue to love all my friends! (Not "that kind" okay!)
6. Go back to help out in TK after A levels.
