2008 Things worth remembering.... And Not remembering...

Begining this year, transport costs, especially for busses have been raised in both Hong Kong and Singapore. Resulting in buses soon becoming more expensive than the train. Hmm..fancy cycling?XD

The first time I took part in Chingay. NOT very pleasant but I do appreciate the compnay of my group and hte new friends I made. =) Haha! And ofcourse, some time to catch up with a few fellow TKsians. XD
Hu Le!!!! I continued to improve my Mahjong! I still prefer Bridge though..haha!
To the victims of the 5.12 quake: Forever Rest in Peace.
We will carry out our promises to you..

Congratulations to China for hosting probably the most profitable Olympics in Olympic history. (Most other games had a deficit). I know some readers feel that there's controversy surrounding the games. But none the less, it's still decent. Sports and Politics just don't mix =/
Hmmm...I tried alot of new stuff with Biz??
Seminars, trade fairs,EXORO,talks by David Tay???=)

ARRRGGGGGHHHH!!!!! The Stocks crash! The world is in recession!!! What happened to my Lehman Brothers Mini Bond?!?!??!(I did not buy any mini-bond) Where is HSBC? DBS?! RBS?!?! Toxic Assets!!!GM is dying!!!Wall Street the 'wall collaspe already!!!HELP!!!!
First ever mayhem at HKIA because of BKIA closure.... hmm....not very nice..
And ofcourse, thankyou to Charlie's Angels for helping him throughout these 2 years! I bet he'll die halfway mopping without them..haha! =)

"Thankyou" Geraldine for being part of this..'scandel"....and getting malu-ed together by...some people...XD (Note: I am not interested in anyone at this moment)

And thankyou to the Biz Club 'mugging gang" for joining me on this mugging adventure: A Levels! =) Wish everyone luck!!! =) And blesses to everyone!
Happy New Year!
in 10 hours time....=)

Last 24 Hours of 2007+ 1st hour of 2008
I really admire the supurb Hong Kong-style efficiency of Biz Clubbers. it is the last day of 2007 and everyone should be celebrating. However, we chose to work!(Searching for teddybears at arab Street and having a Biz club meeting.) And have fun at the same time! XD
Anyway, I'd like to thank Daniel,Mabel,Jack,Siu Yin, Zimin, Syen,Asher,Geraldine and Jia Xian for making the last 24 hours of 2007 so memorable.
This year also saw an unprecedented number of New Year SMS's which means my SMS bill + inbox is going to explode. So I'm very sorry if any of you did'nt receive my replies. XP
Now, I still have some maclaurin's series to copy as I have opfficially given up on it after a month of trying.

The Shasha teddy bear store where me might get our bears from.

Then went Carrefour to look for cheaper bears as the shasha bears might be too expensive.
As you can see, many, if not all of us, have no childhood. Poor us, study in such a pressure-cooker-ish education system...=(
Very Big bear! I do believe Daniel kniws who to give it to....hint:Someone's turing 18 in 4 days!
Jack is being very LAME.....For some unexplained reason, siuyin's face got featured in this picture.
To substantiate my claim further, Jack decided to run up a downward moving travelator.....-_-"
And he has started to wear a "degree-less' specs because 'someone" told him to...who is it? Furture Mrs Neo!
As for dinner, we dined at Carl's Jr and celebrated Geraldine's Belated Birthday. The staff there were nice enough to provide us with a lighter.

Foof! Someone is finally 17!
Group photo. Thankyou to the nice uncle who helped us take picture.=)
Countdown!
The last minutes of 2007
=)
Happy New Year!

2007之大事回顾
2007 Reviewed:

人生之路:
Personal Life:
2007 marks my first year in post-secondary education! Meaning there's only 1 more year of wearing uniform before entering Uni. I will definitley miss wearing uniforms cuz it'll probably be the last moments in my life where everyone regardless rich or poor looked the same. And thankfully MJ's uniform is'nt too ugly XD.
This year also marked the year i finally converted to Muggerism, the official state religion of Meridian JC. It is believed that only people who use this religion will excel well in their A's....most, if not all abandon it as soon as their last paper is over.Haha!
This year also marked the year I started reading massive amounts of Hong Kong Chinese Publications. In the past, I was quite lazy about reading traditional Chinese after adapting to the Singapore system. However, after Taking CSE, I have no choice but to switch back to my old system as most S'pore and China publications tend to have a bias on China affairs. So no choice, have to read MingPao and watch TVB news. Some accidental gains include reading a book/fictional journal about life in HKU, written by anformer HKU student. It really gave me an eye-opener to the school.

Last but not least, I've been extremely fortunate to have met all my special friends at MJ. Special mention goes out to the MJ clique and Biz Club. =)

星洲日记:
Singapore News:
This year marks a raise of GST from 5% to 7%. This means some more paying to do despite little increase in income. This also translates to fewer outings and switching to cheaper products everytime we go NTUC or in my case, ShengShong(They offer the best price!)

This year also marks the arrival of the Airbus A380 to Singapore and the introduction of those first of it's kind...errr... very comfortable and spacious beds? No wonder they had to ban condoms!

This year also marks the introduction of History channel(sian..) to Starhub Cable TV.

This year is also the last year where PAE students get to spend the FULL 1st 3 months as after this year, students only get to enjoy 1 month of slack and subsequently zero. So, to all those who enter JC this year, remember to treasure this luxury!=) Remember to take photos of each other after exchanging your uniforms. And if possible, get a guy, like afiq to wear his TKG uniform! He looks so "chio" !URRRGGH!

香江日记:
Hong Kong News:
2007 marks the 10th aniversary of the reunification of Hong Kong with China. This translates to lots of fireworks and...play!

2007 is also election year for the Chief executive and District Councils. Glad to know that the Pan-progress parties (DAB, Liberal party..also known as Pro-Beijing by western media) have performed respectably at the elections. Hopefully peace and stability will pesevere especially in such a volatile period.

2007 marks the demolition of Queen's Pier. This is another landmark Hong Kong has lost since the Central Star Ferry Pier last year. So far the government has pledged to rebuild it after recliamation works. However, the resulting reconstructed structure will definitely differ from the original Pier due to the new location.

On 2nd December, the last KCR train departs LowWu Station, marking an end of 97 years of service. Since my early years(3 yrs old), when I stayed in Shueng Shui, I have been growing up with KCR. Despite moving out to Hong Kong Island when I was 5, I still travelled on the KCR regularly to visit my grandparents. The merging of the MTR and KCR systems marks an era of more efficiency and chaper tickets but I do miss the old KCR days alot!
Last but not least, just before 2007 is finished, the central government has decided to grant Hong Kong democracy earliest by 2017. Though my political stand is leaned slightly towards the Pan-Progress side(pro-Beijing), I strongly believe that Hong Kong must have a democracy as soon as possible, preferably by 2012. This is especially so when the government sort of "promised" us that direct elections will happen by 2012. Thus like hwat some Hong Kongers have mentioned, we feel "cheated". As for now, I do hope for more discussion between the citizens and the government and settle with a solution where majority HongKongers agree with.

What to look out for in 2008:
Beijing Olympics! Just like previous years, I have 2 teams to support, namely Hong Kong and Singapore. Hopefully they get us some glory yea?
And ofcourse 2008 also marks the most DECISIVE and DEADLY year in education. what is it? A LEVELS!
This means more mugging and even more mugging in the next 9 months. More Jamming of facts, formulas and everything explosive into your brain before they all blow up in front of your exam script.
And...NAPFA! For the sake of not goping in 2 months earlier, please, just bloody hell get a silver okay!

New Year resolution:
1: MUG and MUG and MUG and MUG!
2.Train well for NAPFA
3.Enjoy the last year of wearing school uniform
4.Scold less vulgals, (especially thw word: F***)
5.Continue to love all my friends! (Not "that kind" okay!)
6. Go back to help out in TK after A levels.

Getting Birthday present for "So-and-So"
I shall not elaborate too much about our trip today cuz later someone might see and leak out our surprise. Though I think it was super funny to buy "this funny item" at Watsons with Mabel, Clarice and Siyi. Cuz apparently all three of them cannot wear it. Yea..I know...it sounds wrong..but we're still buying them for "So-and-So" and we better hope it fits him. Ofcourse, to make it more decent, we have bought some other more DECENT items to include into his birthday package....=)
If not, the following conversation might happen:

SAS: Pa, u want these?
Limpei: Har? wha! Watson brand le..not bad! Where u get from ah?
SAS: My friends give me as birthday present....
Limpei: !!!!!!!!(shocked face)
SAS: -_-"
Limpei: WHO ARE THESE FRIENDS?!?!?!
SAS: Errrr......The ones who came and play mahjong last time....
Limpei: Ask them NEVER to come again!

Meanwhile, somewhere in MJC....
Bryan,Clarice,Mabel,Hayden,Siyi: NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Anyway, whatever will happen, we shall expect to see something FUN happening tommorow....

PERKAFE
Received this rather shocking SMS from Miss Wong this morning requesting for a meeting for the O and I Directors. And since she did'nt have Zimin's no, she sent me a second almost identical message, the only difference was that instead of "Hi hayden!" It became" Hi zimin!" And I gave her a rather funny reply and she gave me an even funnier reply.....And Zimin received this message from me that was signed off by Miss Wong. I wonder how she would react...
Anyway, Miss Wong briefed us about the coupons and broke us the news that we actually made a profit during Open House (wow!) and the fact that we die die need to clear all our ice-cream during the holidays as they would've been rotton by January. (Including Pistachio..YUCK!). Therefore, here's a number of ways to clear the most infamous ice-cream flavour in the cafe:

How to get rid of a tub of Pistachio: During Chalet.

Option 1: Magic number.
You should know how to play if you have watched Chinese variety shows...Loser gets a double-scoop( 100g per scoop) of Pistachio

Option 2: Use it as a weapon.
Since chalet will be held sometime in December, it should be taken that we shall celebrate the birthdays of our "honourable" Mr Han and our cute and "innocent" Geraldine Tay as they are born just 5 days away from each other in Dec. Pistachio ice-cream would be a nice substitute to whipped cream to bash them...and besides, ice-cream is colder than whipped cream....so.....hehe!

CEO 2008
Charles told us that our Biz club teachers would be really happy to see him back with us next year, so, we had a suggestion: Charles should run for CEO next year. Confrim got the support from the entire EXCO. Just go on stage and laugh more up there confirm can get votes from juniors de! =) JIAYOU CAOs!
