Mugger Feat Walk China part 7:
Work!
Finally I can blog about work! Basically I saikang in the lab. Our factory produces reisins for the manifacture of plastics items such as toothbrushes,utensils,photoframe...all those. And before any reisin is made, we ofcourse need to colour them or else all plastics we see today would be white. Before every batch of reisin is produced, samples are taken and made into plates where we do qualitative analysis to ensure product quality. It's in this department where I have been saikanging. Yep..I'll talk more about it in a later post, and with the pics I managed to sneak out. So far I am only allowed to take picsof the office.
Zhu Jia Jiao
Remember the scene from "Qin Qian Bai Zi Gui" you will think of this place. Ju Jia Jiao is located just 20mins by bus from QingPu and 40mins by SHT bus from downtown. Most famous is the "fang sheng" bridge where people release a pair of fish(representing you and the person you love most) from the top of the bridge into the river. Legend says that if the fish ever meet each other again below the bridge you and your lover have the "yuan fen" and you both will "bai tou dao lau". THis explains the happy ending in the TVB drama..=)
So if Leon wants to test out whether he and his secret really go "yuan fen" den he should come here and..err...experiment?

This place also has some very nice narrow alleyways which have been preserved to resemble tat of traditional China.
Famous produce of the "village" (technically district) include green beans( dried ones), Ah Po Dumplings, Local snacks, and this: fermented vegetbles. THough the look more like TCM herbs, they're usually used for cooking. The shop featured here claims to be the oldest and biggest in town.
I shall leave you with more of Pudong and the Bund for yesterday's post.
The Oriental Pearl
And the "He Ping Fan Dian" Peace hotel from the Bund
Another evening view of the Bund.
The Shanghai Urban Development Centre, where Shanghai'sdevelopment is being showcased. A scaled-model of the entire city is housed inside. It's located at the People's Square in the heart of town.
Raffles City!
