yawns....just came back from OBS camp. Seriously I am very tired but I think I should still have a journal of everything...yawns..better do this quick before I fall asleep....
DAY1
Got up early to report to school. The babu Singh never come so Mr Rizal sent us on the bus to Punggol Jetty. Somehow many of us TKsians were quite traumatised about this OBS course as many of us were forced to go by Babu Singh. So during the grouping of the Watches and briefing, many of us were like muttering many side comments. It was in this atmoshpere that I got into the watch Raffles. Ok so we got BoonWee to be our instructor, and he looks very much like our dear Physics teacher, Mr Wee. So it was a relief to what I thouht would be like our Sec2 cohort camp. We got unsensical and mental sir's then. So we started first with some team building games and trust activities. Then we went to practise belaying. It was the first time that people actually "entrused thier lives" on me! If I did anythong wrong, I would really have serious explanation to do...Then BoonWee taught us how to set fire, cook food and pitch our tents. Then we cook along the beach along with KokTong's watch. i really started missing everyone....
DAY2
So we started kayaking in the morning. The sun was up and the weather was so good that it was almost scorching. We practised capsizing drill, which was extremely scary. I suddenly had myself uturned upsidedown and I almost knocked my head to the hull. When we finally started paddelling, I found myself in an unstable and rocking craft. Somehow, Jabez( my partner) paddled quite violent bah....so we paddled to Camp1 of OBS, which was so much better than the camp we started on, Camp2. So we got there and had our shoes washed. Ai...an eyesore to see this clump of sand in my shoes....it is quite "e xin" I also dried my wet cloths and unloaded our bags from the OBS boat. Our second part of the day was some "relaxing" activity. We had a high element activity indoors. It was quite nice to dangle on top of that 'ladder" with 2m steps. Then I kinda held very tight with the thing. So lucky I did not fall...haha Then we had our only fresh dinner for the whole camp. Although the food was not very good, but compared camp food, it was the best thing we had. So I eat and eat and eat untill I was stuffed. Then it was back to the tents.
DAY3
We were supposed to begin a land expedition of Ubin. And we were also supposed to carry our super heavy bags, tents and equipment. So we did some planning in the morning before we set off at around 10 something in the morning. We hiked for hours and had to search for checkpoints BoonWee gave us. So we hiked like mad and we sweated so much that almost all the water we drank became sweat. We also met some "interesting" people along the way. First we met the watch Nila Utamah and Amundson. Hui Qi SeowPeng and Sarah were in those watches. I could not believe I really missed them alot. I also missed KokTong and many other people. I felt like giving up. Then we met some students from ?? sec. They asked us for water and we asked them to surrender their bikes. Obviously it is lame right? So we ended the day visiting the spice garden. This is my favourite place on the island so it was nice they did not miss it out. Then we ended the day camping in a remote part of Ubin. It was quite dark there but we still managed to have a athering that night outside our tents. We had Din, Naz,Zam they all singing songs and being Djays. Then we got MengTing to sing "spirited away" Wah.....very nice le....ofcourse lah...she from TK Choir one le.....gold with honours le.....ok...so we had alot of fun crapping and singning without knowing what awaits us at dawn the next morning......
DAY4
It started with a time check. It was about 0530. Someone said: " is your tent flooded?"
"No..."
"we got ants....."
short silence...
"WAH!!!! Flooding!!!"
after some time the rain seeped into our tents untill everything got wet and we went out into the rain in our yellow ponchos. We kinda looked like bananas...Somehow, we camped over an ant's nest. We soon had ants swarming over our bags and tents. The sight is really "e xin" As according to MengTing, they litterally came in "flowers". It is a really horrendous sight. We stood helpless in the pouring rain and we asked BoonWee for help. It took us quite a while to get rid of them by washing the tents and some of the "infected" items in the sea.(we camped by the sea") At that point of time I really felt like shouting at people and killing Babu Singh for getting me into this muck. It got me into a really bad mood. What's more, we had all our bags muddy. When we got rid of them, BoonWee took us to build raft at HDB Quarry. We worked quite well designing and buildind the raft. Then we launched it and we were given the task of measuring the depth of the quarry. Things started out well. The water was nice to swim in and I took the opportunity to wash off some of the grime form my shirt. Then as we were rafting out, all of a sudden, one of the barrels satrted to lossen. We fixed the problem but without warning, another barrel broke loose and literally flew away. This equals go back to shore. After that, we hiked all the way back to camp2. Back there we kinda played some team building games again and I FINALLYsaw my fellow TK sians agaan!!! SO happy lor....That night we planned to party all night however, we cancelled it after all the exhaustion. Ai....last day liao....kinda learnt alot although I did not really appreciate it at first. Now I got the full meaning......the next day........DAY5Pack up time. We had to wash our tents, mass tins and all the equipment. Then after that we had our final meeting. It was quite emotional. We shared all the ups and downs. (refer to conclusion) After tha, we had a defrief which turned out to be a full description of a wasp attack on Koktong's Watch....ouch....Then we set off back to Punggol according to watches. Not to mention the last minute photo taking. So all the TKsians decided to meet together at the jetty before we go. So we went to Punggol MRT together. Then we got lost there and had a little land expedition to get to the station. Then I had a dillema of taking bus or MRT. In the end I went with SeowPEng take bus34 because I thought it would be faster. But then she told me the bus does not go pass Tampines interchange...yikes! but it goes Changi Airport. So never mind lor....I took the bus and we had a little sharing....ya....we really leanrt alot....I was also surprised they took the first step in making a super pesimistic girl a bit more optimistic. Think she should go there more...ok ar...no offence....hahaThe REAL Outward Bound CourseYep, this camp really changed me. Firstly, I now start appreciating what I have, my home, family and friends...Then I think there are many ways to make a team work together. In a team, no matter how high, low, small, big you are, you are always imporatant to its survival. What's more, I made many new friends, we became really close after sleeping with each other for 4 nights. After this, life continues. Challenges will come by again and again and so does the happiness. What we have to do is to face them and live through them. There is no challenge that is unsolveable.......................................

wahx.....the Guides and Scouts Combined Campfire was crazy! Last day of 7th month..oops...so the day started quite stupid...I started packing some of the things for the OBS camp. It was stupid, thanks to stupid Mr Babu Singh...force me to go and ask me to scold my parents....see whether he got do this...if he got, we should sack him...Ok...back to the HAPPY things...yeah! So I first met up with SP, Ying and MQ. Mud should have come, but I don't know where he went...so we ate at macs. Then they kinda asked me alot about what happened in the auidi on Fri...(the one where only the guys had to go..........) ok....should shut up on this matter. Although it made 2 people go laughing like got mental problem like that...Then when we arrived at the campfire, we had some "service" from ShiRong. But I think the "service" needs some improvement. Should wear blazer...haha....Ok so the campfire Really ROX! We kinda had this cheering competition, the non-UG people like me were a bit dead. Yeah, we are not that good with cheering. So we were made to scream. The best part was the newspaper dance. They had people dancing on a newspaper which gets smaller and smaller. So it ended with people being carried and hugged. Somemore got someone one-on-one le....OMG...One pair ended up "gao gay" the other erm.....ya....something very enjoyable...hahaThen we had performances and other games. Then got some camfire song singing, and the finale was the song "Pass It On" It is a nice song lor...last time I used to sing it. Then each non-UG club was given a "bubble", its quite cute actually, another fine work by Miss Seah. Yeah, it is good of them to get souveniers from quality manufactures like the TK D&T room....haha...
